TransferWise, the company letting expats, foreign students and businesses move money globally, has raised $280M in a Series E round of funding. The rounds was led by Old Mutual Global Investors and included World Innovation Lab, Richard Branson, Baillie Gifford, Mitsui & Co., Sapphire Ventures, Institutional Venture Partners and Andreessen Horowitz. The founders, Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Kaarmann’s, have raised a total of $396M over their 7 rounds.
