Monzo, the digital-only challenger bank, has raised £60M in venture funding from investors that include Y Combinator, Accel, General Catalyst, Thrive Capital, Passion Capital, Goodwater Capital, Reference Capital (formerly Genevest), Stripe, Orange, and Vanderbilt University. Founded by Gary Dolman, Jason Bates, Jonas Huckestein, Paul Rippon, and Tom Blomfield in 2015, Monzo has now raised a total of £384.7M in reported equity funding. This funding comes at a reported 40% discount from the firm’s last valuation from its previous round that closed in June of 2019. The pre-money valuation for this round was $1.24B.
